Our Founding Story

2002

During the summer in high school, YB Company's founder, Yesenia Barraza Simmons worked for a deli that happened to be owned by a small business owner and CPA. That is when she knew she had the entrepreneurial spirit, but couldn't define it. She had a vision of wanting to be a business owner to help other business owners in a more direct way.

2008

Her vision led her to take accounting courses and an entrepreneurship elective, she developed fundamental business skills to become an independent contractor for a small accounting firm. She soon realized she could add smaller firms. She got to know the challenges and processes of small business ownership. She saw the possibilities: the ability to craft quality service and the new ways to serve clients.

2015

After years of serving individual entrepreneurs and businesses, YB Company grows its team and hones in on serving businesses. The move signals YB Company is serious about helping executives gain consistent results at every step of the way and not just during tax season. The milestone is a testament to the strength of the company's client’s growth in their businesses.

2022

YBCo recently acquired and underwent an extensive renovation of its stunning Central Avenue property. By investing in this remodel, YBCo aims to enhance its ability to serve clients effectively while simultaneously nurturing and supporting a flexible working environment for its talented workforce. The newly revamped Central Avenue location now stands as a testament to YBCo's commitment to fostering a productive work environment and providing exceptional service.
